Everybody has the right to request the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application or an element thereof. One may also request the information with the aid of an alternative access method, for instance through reading out the inaccessible digital document, describing the content of a film with no audio-description etc. The request should contain the data of a person submitting the request, an indication which website or mobile application is concerned and the contact method. If the person requests the need to obtain the information via alternative access method, he/she should additionally specify a convenient method of revealing this information. The public entity should forthwith process the request, not later than within 7 days of the request being submitted. If compliance with the above deadline is not possible, the entity shall immediately inform the requester of the nearest possible date when the request may be processed, whereby this date shall not exceed 2 months from the request having been submitted. Accessibility of the entrance and passage through control areas
Accessibility to the entrance of the building: The main entrance to the building is located at ul. Bankowa 11 and is equipped with four independent door wings. The entrance is located on the Western part. The platforms for persons with disabilities are located at the main entrance in order to solve the problem of the level differences. The gate-house, which additionally serves as the information point, is located at the entrance. Passage through control areas: The access control for the evacuation door has been installed on the premises. The door is opened through magnetic cards only by authorized employees. Other persons may open the door from inside only in case of emergency (fire, explosion, evacuation etc.) through the buttons installed on the door wings which should be broken in order to gain access. The access control is also installed at the external elevator whose cabin door leads directly to the building (the corridor on the ground floor). The access to the cabin door is granted only to authorized persons. Other persons may gain access to the premises through the entrance between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. calling the assistance via the button located by the elevator or calling 32 359-1108. The employees, students with physical disability may obtain a card issued for a specified period in the dean’s office, room no 7 which provides services for students with disabilities and special needs, tel. 32 359-1807 or from the Administrator of the facility marked as “P” 410 A Bankowa 14, tel. 32 359-1179 or 502-622-988.

The accessibility of corridors, stairs and elevators
The accessibility of corridors
The corridors on the premises guarantee free movement of persons. Their width is adjusted for the purposes of safe movement of both pedestrians and persons moving in a wheelchair. There are no level differences in the communication part. Platforms for persons with disabilities have been installed by the conference rooms as well as in the main entrance zone in the vicinity of the stairs. The ground floor: the corridor leading to the lecture hall, lecturers’ offices, cloak room and the cafeteria may be accessed directly via the ground floor using the external elevator facing the Centre for Scientific Information and Academic Library (the eastern part of the building). It is recommended to use the external elevator in order to access this floor. It is also possible to access the compartments located on the ground floor from the level of the main entrance. However, due to the necessity of using several platforms and the elevator at the same time, this mode of access is not recommended. Ground floor may be accessed from the main entrance using the platforms for persons with disabilities. It is possible to access the Student Service Center using the external elevator facing the Centre for Scientific Information and Academic Library. 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor: access is possible via the main entrance using the platforms for persons with disabilities and the internal passengers’ elevator (currently under renovation). It is also possible to use the external elevator. 4th floor: access is possible via the main entrance using the platform for persons with disabilities and the internal lift (currently under renovation). In order to gain access to the conference room III on the 4th floor it is necessary to head towards the right entrance and use the ramp for persons with disabilities.

Accessibility of the stairs:
The building is equipped with four independent staircases. In order to exit the premises, one should head along the internal staircases leading to the main entrance. The external staircases lead to the evacuation exits and enable to move between the floors. In order to access the conference room III on the 5th floor one should head along the internal staircase in “A” segment”. The stairs are equipped with railings and handrails.
Accessibility of elevators:
The building is equipped with two passengers’ elevators (both internal and external) and 6 platforms for persons with disabilities - passengers’ internal elevator freely accessible: access via the main entrance to the building. Available on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors (currently under renovation). - passengers’ external elevator: access from the eastern side of the building (Centre for Scientific Information and Academic Library). Called via a magnetic card which may be obtained in the dean’s office, room 7 providing assistance for students with disabilities and special needs, tel. 32 359-1807 or from the Administrator of the facility marked as “P” 410 A Bankowa 14, tel. 32 359-1179 or 502-622-988. -The external platform from the right main entrance is operated by the security employees. The assistance is called via the button located on the right side of the elevator (level “0”) or by telephone no: 32 359-1108. - the internal platforms on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors (currently under renovation) floors are operated by the security employees.

The access to the parking lot is possible after prior notification of the security, telephone no: 32 359-1108. Accessibility of the entrance and passage through control areas

Already at the design stage the entrance to the building has been adjusted to the needs of persons with disabilities No barriers, no stairs etc. Interlocking paver covered surface. During the winter period the main entrance (interlocking paver covered area of app. 30 square meters) has the central heating system installed, which eliminates the problem of iced-covered surfaces. The building is freely accessible, only suspiciously looking persons and cases reported to the security by the monitoring office as well as persons who already entered may undergo control.

The building is equipped with two elevators to which persons with disabilities have free access from all floors as well from the level of garage where they enter with special access cards. It is also possible to use the so called glass elevator located in the main hall of the building which operates between two floors (3rd floor - with the dean’s office for full-time students, 2nd floor - with dean’s offices for part-time students). All corridors may be accessed using the elevators.

The underground garage is accessible to all students with disabilities. All floors are equipped with toilets adjusted to persons with disabilities.

The parking lot is freely accessible. There are approximately 150 parking places. Access via ulica Bankowa/Uniwersytecka and on the basis of subscription cards for students and employees or against a fee collected in accordance with the pricing list for the other users. The parking lot is assigned to the building on the basis of a lease contract. The restricted parking spaces are clearly marked and painted in blue with a white “x” and additional information signs. The number of restricted parking spaces: 3, students with disability certificates are granted the possibility to use the underground parking lot without additional charges.

Accessibility of the entrance and passage through control areas
Entry to the building by persons with mobility impairment takes place through a separate door located on the front wall of the building. The door is covered by the access control system and video monitoring and is automatically opened by the security employee following a signal from the external button. The door can also be operated by the person with disability if he/she possesses an access card or a remote control. The entrance may be accessed via the parking lot and the basement with the use of a ramp with a slight, standard tilt angle.

Accessibility of corridors, stairs and elevators
Corridors, staircases and elevators are accessible to all users. An elevator with adjusted size of the cabin is made available to persons with vertical mobility impairment. The elevator stops on all floors on which research and didactic activities are conducted and services provided. Persons moving in a wheelchair, having entered the building through the designated entrance located on the level of the basement may use the above mentioned elevator to access all floors from -1 to 5 and moving further along the corridor, access all rooms and offices. Persons moving in wheelchair may cope with the level differences on the ground floor and 5th floor with the use of a platform and a ramp.

Types of adjustments inside the building
On the ground floor and 5th floor there are two wheelchair platforms which enable persons moving in wheelchairs to independently cope with level differences on the corridors (3 stairs). The platforms may be operated by persons with disabilities themselves as well as by the maintenance technicians who may be called via intercom. On the premises there are 8 toilets adjusted to the needs of persons with disabilities, one per each floor (and two on the ground floor). The toilets are additionally equipped with a paging system used in cases of emergency. There are two passengers’ elevators operating in the building. Their external and internal control panels are equipped with tactile information prepared in Braille’s alphabet intended for the use of persons with visual disabilities.

There is a parking lot located in front of the building (plac Sejmu Śląskiego) designated for the faculty employees. The control of control takes place via folding parking posts located on each of the 19 parking places. The keys to each of the parking place are available at the gate-house. Additionally, there is one restricted parking place for persons with disabilities located in direct vicinity of the entrance for these persons. This parking place ensures free access via one-way road from ulica Jagiellońska. Opposite the one-way road located alongside the building one may access a municipal parking lot with numerous parking places.

Accessibility of the entrance to a building and passage through control areas
The entrance to the building is equipped with a wheelchair ramp in compliance with the relevant provisions of law, sufficient roofed space intended for use, there is a double sliding door without thresholds installed in the vestibule. The gate-house is located directly behind the entrance.

Accessibility of corridors, stairs and elevators
The corridors on all floors are sufficiently wide, the width ranging from 2.40 cm to 3.70 cm in its widest part, which enables persons in wheelchairs or on crutches to move without obstacles. The staircase complies with the requirements. The elevator is adjusted to the needs of persons with disabilities, equipped with detectors blocking the door closure, the width of the cabin: 110 cm, length 210 cm. Both entrances are equipped with automatic sliding door - operated via movement detector. There is a security station located at each of the entrances. In the direct vicinity of the entrances there are wheelchair ramps. The ramps are equipped with landings and protection barriers. The ramps are hard surfaced, no thresholds.

There are two pairs of accessible stairs at the Faculty as well as corridors whose width exceeds 140 cm. There are 3 elevators on the premises adjusted to the needs of persons with disabilities with automatic sliding door. The door opens to the inside, the width: 90 cm with a handle located at the height of the arm of persons with disabilities. Passageways and lecture halls are accessible on all floors - their width is adjusted in order to enable a free passage of a person without disabilities with a person with disabilities. Staircases - accessible to all users. Passengers’ lifts accessible to all users, adjusted to the needs of persons with mobility impairment, stopping on all floors. One of the cabins of passengers’ lift adjusted in size for persons with disabilities moving in a wheelchair. Cabins of the lifts - equipped with mirrors located on the wall facing the entrance enabling a person with disabilities to verify whether there are no obstacles behind their back and whether he/she may safely leave the cabin. The information on floor numbers in the lifts’ cabins is contained in Braille’s alphabet. The lifts’ door opens and closes automatically and are equipped with a detector blocking the door closure before the physical contact with an object or a person.
